Highland Vegetable Boxes
Does my order have to include a box or crate?
Yes, it does but you can specify a couple of vegetables that you don't want to receive and we can usually swap them for something else.
How do I pay?
You can choose to make a one off payment or sign up to a regular payment agreement.
For one-off payments we accept Visa, Visa Delta, MasterCard, Maestro and Solo.
For regular orders you can pay by logging into your account, clicking on ‘my account’ and then ‘make a payment’. Scheduled Payments allow us to debit your card up to an agreed limit each time you have a delivery and saves you needing to remember to pay each time.
Please note this particular service is only available with Mastercard and Visa Credit cards and Visa debit cards.
If your card has expired or there is a problem with a payment please contact us. For reasons of security, please do not email us your credit card details.
We accept cash or cheque if you opt to pay the delivery driver.
Is it safe to give you my credit card details?
As safe as it can be. The transaction takes place on secure servers operated by SagePay and we never see your credit card details. However, if you are uneasy about this method of payment you can opt to pay the driver on delivery.
Do I have to have an order every two weeks?
No, you can order a 'one-off' box from our online SHOP.
Customers in Nairn and Forres can have a weekly delivery.
How can I find out what is in the boxes?
We choose the contents to give you a varied selection of what's best that particular week. The unpredictability of the weather means we may occasionally have to change items at the last minute so we don't publish a list.
What size box is best for me?
We suggest the boxes are suitable for the number of people shown below, based on a week's use. Most of our customers take a £12 box fortnightly.
Mini Box
6 items or more
1-2 persons
£10.00
Standard Box
8 items or more
2-4 people
£12.00
Crate
Same items but more of them.
4-6 people
£16.00
How can I change my order?
If you set up a regular order you can pause it at any time.
To change the order the credit card payment provider sees this as a new instruction so you have to first cancel your original order and then choose your new frequency or box type.
Instructions:
1. Login to your account
2. Choose Add/Update my vegetable box
3. Choose Cancel subscription
4. Go back to Add/Update my vegetable box
5. Choose box type and frequency
6. Choose subscribe to box or crate
7. Credit card needs to be set up again for taking regular payments so choose Proceed to payment
8. Select card type
9. Input card details and press proceed.
What is the deadline for changing my order?
5pm on the tuesday prior to delivery.
How do I plan for holidays?
You can pause your order at any time. To do this:
Go to your Account
Add/Update vegetable box
Under your veg box subscription (ie Standard Box, Crate or Large Crate)
You will see two buttons:
Pause or Cancel
Press the Pause button
This will then pause deliveries until such time as you login back to your account again and follow same procedure - but the button will now say 'Resume'.
If I don’t like something can I swap it for something else?
Yes, update your dislikes in your account and we will try to ensure these vegetables are not in your box and will replace with an alternative. Our boxes usually contain potatoes, carrots and onions.
What time do you deliver? Do I need to be at home?
We deliver between 8am and 8pm on the delivery day. There is no need for you to be at home as when you set up an account there is an opportunity to tell us where you want the box left, see below.
Where will you leave my box if I’m not in?
Update your account with where you would like us to leave your box. This could be anything from leaving your box with a neighbour, in a shed or garage, to tucking it under a hedge, behind a wheely bin or under upturned recycling boxes. We can also deliver to your work place if this is more convenient.

Who is Scotgro?
Jock Scott grew fruit and vegetables at Broombank Farm for many years supplying supermarkets such as Sainsbury's. He started Scotgro to meet the demand for local, fresh vegetables and now almost all the produce from the farm is sold locally. In early 2012 his son Archie took over the business.
Are the veg boxes organic?
No. Some of the contents are likely to be organic but under Soil Association regulations an organic veg box must contain only organically certified produce. We find most people consider it more important that the contents are locally grown and fresh.
Where does your produce come from? Is it all homegrown?
Most of our produce is is grown on our farm at Broombank, Auldearn. Some comes from neighbouring farmers and growers. When local produce is not available or is not of a high enough standard we buy from other trusted sources.
What should I do if my box hasn’t arrived?
If it is very late, please contact us. We will find out what has happened and try to put it right.
Is there a delivery charge?
No.
What should I do if there is a problem with any of the produce?
Scotgro strives to provide fresh, high quality produce but with fresh vegetables the odd thing can inevitably go wrong. We try to catch any problems and grade out anything that is substandard or doesn’t have enough shelf life.
You may find the occasional harmless beastie in among leaves but they are easily washed off. We hope you agree it is preferable to the long term effects of ingesting chemicals!
If you do have a problem please let us know so we can investigate and put it right so that it doesn’t happen again.
